I was initially inspired by a tutor last year who once said “children are the most creative before they are taught the disciplines of colouring in the lines”. This statement had a huge impact on me as I have decided to forego this and produce a project from it. I am intrigued to look into what a child draws, why they would draw something, and more importantly what their drawings mean. I want to say that I don’t feel enough people appreciate the creativity and expressiveness that there is behind children's art work. I want to challenge this and try and show people the honest and playful manner involved in their work. My artists statement is to encourage people to try and see the natural beauty in our children's work.
